I need a JOBBB.....!!!

I should probably post some pictures about something interesting or fashion related but not just yet....

Right now I am frustrated......well maybe that's not it....nope, never mind...

Sticking with frustrated.

I am a Designer. I'll tell you my idea of what that means:
-I conceive ideas and designs
-I draw and sketch these ideas
-I have physically made said designs on more than one occasion from start to finish.

Does this make me special? Maybe, but not in New York City, and definitely not coming from a Fashion School....one based in New York City.

Does this make me talented?
Undetermined, until you've seen the proof....

What it does make me is:
Creative!

I am a creative mind, living in New York City, trying to get paid for her ideas, artistic ability and skills....who is instead sweating it out in a NYC Bakery.

And herein lies the frustrated....

My dear friend and I, in one of our hurried conversations as she ran off for her two hour train ride home, were catching up and the normal "How's work?" comes up, which seems to be the most tantamount part of adult conversation, which makes me totally dread another forty years of this crap.

But I digress....

So in answer to this question, my response is of course, "Too many hours, my Boss is crazy."

My friend looks at me for a beat,

"You don't get paid enough."

This was perhaps my biggest surprise yet. It made me think...

Now in everyday life, if a person is unpleasant, the normal inclination is to leave their company, or make the plans necessary so as to be in the position to leave as soon as possible. For example, the lovely person who insists on sharing personal anecdotes about razor burn, pets, and the frequency or lack thereof of their bowel movements, is usually the person you seek to avoid. However, when that person is the same person that signs your checks, which, when added up, value upwards of $80,000 per annum, then speak on oh bespeaker of bowels! There is indeed a certain level of misery that many of us will genuinely and willingly tolerate to afford an extra set of cutlery or that boathouse you didn't even know they made catalogs for.

Think about your most unpleasant boss. Now think about your highest salary (ever). Point. Made...

And not to say that I don't appreciate my job and the fact that it gives me the chance to eat more than once a week, but that's just it: One meal. And I'm pretty sure I didn't attend four years worth of credits at an institution of higher learning to help customers think their way through if there's peanut butter in the peanut butter cookie....just sayin'....

Yes, so basically what I'm looking for is the chance. The chance to use my creative abilities towards a company that actually values creative minds, and the chance to have a crazy a** boss that will actually maybe pay me more than the normal wage of a Wall Street secretary in the 1950's,without adjusting for inflation. If rent was still $13 a week then maybe I'd be a little more well to do...but alas, here we are...

Wish me luck on the hunt, dear friends, hope this helps you on yours as well :-).

Until next time,
